Would be nice if it tracked NW more and brought some rains with it. Tropical systems are great at helping out with droughts.

Julia choosing along coast route...broad center mostly over water near Savannah, GA. Very heavy rains feeding into Coastal areas of SC now.
Flooding will be a major concern next few days:

"WIND: Wind gusts to tropical storm force are possible along portions of the coasts of Georgia and southern South Carolina today.
RAINFALL: Julia is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 3 to 6 inches along the immediate coastline of South Carolina from Georgetown southward, and 2 to 4 inches near Savannah, Georgia. Isolated maximum amounts up to 10 inches are possible along the immediate coast of South Carolina. Julia is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 1 to 2 inches elsewhere along the coast from far northeast Florida to far southern North Carolina. This rainfall could lead to flash flooding, especially in Georgia and South Carolina.
TORNADOES: An isolated tornado is possible across southern South Carolina today."
Friday September 16, 2016 5pmEST update:
Winds 40mph, moving S at 3mph, pressure 1008mb. Shear is blowing current storm activity off to the East of the storm center. Shear expected to lesson late Sunday. Canadian and UKMET models re-intensify the storm, but GFS, ECMWF, and HWRF weaken the system. Expected to meander around next few days. Nothing really with it currently but will continued to be watched.
The ghost of Julia has helped dump several inches of scattered rains across eastern NC and southeast VA (Hampton Roads area) since Monday.
