Not if they haven't changed. Several health code violations a few years back

Was that at their current location, or we're they on Lindsay Blvd. when those citations were given?

Thanks,

It sounds like you want more info about those great little mom and pop places that are our favorites, tmp4.

There are some treasures like Babe's Bakery, Scotty's for those who like shakes. Ironically, I met the owner ( or the man who built Scotty's) originally. The North Highway Cafe is known for how good entrees like Prime Rib and other specials and Smitty's. If you haven't been to Smitty's yet, you are missing out on both good food and Idaho Falls history, tnp4. Smitty's does breakfast all day and Lunch/ dinner menus too.
Then there are places like Jakers, The Cellar, The Snake Bite, and Ruttabaga's etc.

Check out Idaho Falls Magazine, especially the issue that has the food award issue. They may keep that info on their website or Facebook links. The Post Register has started doing dining favorites too. It's on the "special reports" section.

I understand about the chains but I have to say I'm an Outback fan. I've mostly eaten in them in FL and other GULF states. The Idaho Falls Outback is the only one I'll eat at "inland." they get their fish fresh too, just like Jaker's the Sandpiper and others.

Finally, if you saw the business news in the PR on Tuesday, not only was the La Vanilla Bean mentioned again ( downtown), it appears some remodeling is going to result in a different restaurant/bar on Lindsay Blvd. and a totally different bar/ no bad venue on the Northgate Mile. The same two people are developing the properties. The North Gate mile one will serve food but their real focus is getting bands, maybe comics etc. as an entertainment venue.

BTW - I saw the Green????? Coffee shop on 1st street for the first time today. Has anyone been there? If so what do they serve? Thanks if you know and post.

More than you asked for tmp4, but now you know more about local specialties. My family has always liked going to West Yellowstone and the Playmill. I believe they still offer food cooked in the outdoor pots that can be buried or cooked over a fire. I'm drawing a blank on the name. - Dutch Oven cooking, does that sound right?

Let us know where you get the best food

Current location and I have also experienced it personally. I though they could not mess up a simple slice of pie... wrong! Hair baked right into the merengue, along with the hair in a cup of hot chocolate

Do you remember when the PR did health department reports on area restaurants? It took 4 different installments to cover Frontier Pie!!

Default Stockman's Restaurant?

Can someone give me a review of Stockman's Restaurant? The wife subscribed to the Idaho Falls Magazine and we were sent a $10 gift card to Stockman's. Is it worth using?

Thanks for any responses.

It's pricy (by Idaho Falls standards), but very good food. I've been there three times -- twice to eat and once for a banquet. Their food is fresh and the service was good. Seems a little out of place in Idaho Falls, but maybe as SRL keeps growing and IF turns into a real city, it'll fit in
