My sister and her husband visited Orofino last week and were captivated by this sweet, All American town on the Clearwater River.

She called me with somewhat shocking news that a one bedroom apartment in the Brookside Retirement Complex was $1,440. for one person and an additional $600. for spouse.

I asked, does this include meals?

No.

I asked, what does $2,040. a month include?

Apartment with kitchen, patio, basic cable.

Is it subsidized?

No, she concluded.

Wow...I answered....I didn't know what else to say.

I don't know how it compares on price with similar facilities. Looks like it includes a lot more than what you listed:
Services Provided at Brookside Landing Retirement Community
  • Light housekeeping
  • Weekly flat linen service
  • Social activities
  • Transportation Services
  • Basic Cable Television
  • Full breakfast
  • Delicious Mid-Day Meal
  • Evening meal
  • Indoor and outdoor maintenance
  • Ample Parking
  • Grounds keeping
  • 24 Hour Emergency response system

Default Different Plan

The plan you quote is the one for full care living.

The rate my sister was quoted did not include meals or any other care or services. There are 2 different types of living there.

Rather than reprint the information from their literature....I suggest you call them and then post the information.

thanks
