I'm still not following why she didn't know she wasn't a citizen.

How could she have not known ? I'm just asking because here in Texas you need proof to get your DL for the first time and thats a BC...You need some proof of who you are to get a home loan....I fine it hard to believe that she did not know, but if !!!
This is The United States of America and we have laws. Love and respect our Country. It is an honor and a privlidge to live here. We are soooo lucky to be here. By the way my last immigrant relative came here 100 years ago and the others over 100 years. I am so sad to see what is happening here.

How did she get a social security number? When I was 16 I went to get my social security card and had to bring my birth certificate and proof that my parents were/are American citizens. How did she get past that?
The article doesn't say but she may have come over on the Cuban Marial boat lift.
