Now, whenever one discusses subsidies, it’s important to note that the real beneficiaries aren’t farmers, most of whom scrape by, but rather the companies they sell their corn to: from grain trader/sweetener makers like Archer Daniels Midland to meat producers like Tyson (or mega-firms that perform both roles, like Cargill). A recent study by Tufts researchers Tim Wise and Alicia Harvie reckons that by putting downward pressure on corn and soy prices, federal subsidies saved chicken producers $11.3 billion, pork processors $8.5 billion, and beef packers $4.5 billion in the 1997-2005 time frame. Producers of HFCS benefitted, too, to the tune of $2.2 billion, the researchers estimate.

Between 1995 and 2006, the government paid out $56 billion in corn subsidies,
From 1994 to 2009, Procampo spent more than 13.3 billion dollars, according to the Subsidies to Farming in Mexico project, of the non-governmental research centre, Fundar.

400% more subsidies than Mexico, resulted
in a massive of unemployed farmers.

The third link you posted "Too much government makes us sick" was an excellent article on corn and corn-derivatives. I had know idea corn posed those health risks. Corn-on-the-cob with butter.....ummm......good. But now I'll have to figure out what to eat with my BBQ smoked ribs!! LOL

PS: Would it be possible for you to turn your talents to food health rather than illegal migrants? I think you may have found your calling....

Socialism can not survive with out keeping the people dependent on it. Once a person is down it keeps them down.

I dont understand why the american goverment spending more than 1 trillion dollars on our armed forces. and having

9 percent of our labor force unemployed, why are they not kicking the illegal out if they are such a problem?

because to them...
to THEM..
TO THEM
TO THEM
TO THEM
TO THEM
TO THEM
TO THEM
TO THEM....they are profitable, and at the same time they dont vote and are
docile
and their using them as scabs to the spoiled american
who either thru, laws, or unions are preventing
them (the capitalist) from exploiting them.

YES they are using everybody, to keep us all slaves.
most important is to keep us divided.

The illegals for cheap labor and their children for the wars.
The americans to drive our quality of life down so far we'll be just as happy as them to just eat and sleep. work for whatever to survie.
All of us the sheep while the elite screw us and take away any thing
that gives us self respect.
All I wanted was to not have live next to them, the noise and trash was
so upsetting day in day out.
All I wanted was to make a fair wage.
All I wanted was to be free to speak my mind when 20 years ago
they gave the place away to mexico.
So they got a man of color to make it a race deal.
While they rob us blind, they put us against each other with no hope of prosperity. divide and conquer.

We were the mealting pot, now we are the boiling pot.
too many poor people came, we need the jobs ourselfs.
sorry mexico.
