I consider this bill to be similar to the 1986 Amnesty Bill ... that one passed and was signed into law by President Reagan (one of the biggest mistakes of his career). We have seen the negative effects of that legislation, and there shouldn't be any more amnesty. If immigrants want to live in this country, they have every opportunity to do so the LEGAL way.
It's funny how the pro-illegal rhetoric keeps changing.

Not long ago, they insisted that all illegals wanted to do is come here and work some low-paying job and help their families back home, maybe save up a little and start a business back home, create jobs and eventually return home and build the infrastructure of their hometowns up.

They would keep food prices low and help the big growers like the Pelosi family amass large fortunes. They would in the end help their own countries by returning home and bringing with them new ideas and of course savings accounts.

You could almost go along with that. But it turns out the illegals have no intentions of ever going home. They also don't want the low paying jobs like working in the Pelosi family fields. They want the high paying jobs, the Ivy League university educations. They're also perfectly happy turning their children over to cartel smuggling groups and risking their safety and lives which shows they don't really care all that much about these kids. But we're supposed to.

Definately a GOOD DAY!!!!
Yes. Not one of these people wants to work to improve his or her own country. That would require effort. The way to improve their own country is to stay in school, learn some job skills and delay the start of their families until they can support them. Just doing that, they will improve their own countries.

These people have no desire whatsoever to help their own people. It's all about getting themselves over the border into the USA and demanding big rewards for that. This of course does nothing at all for the people left behind. This doesn't build more schools in Mexico, or provide needed jobs. It doesn't do any thing at all.

They use the line they come here "to improve themselves" as if they are better than those in their own country who remain there, who work to improve themselves by finishing an education and working hard in their own country. They are not.

You can admire the people of Mexico who live there and work there and really are trying to improve their country. Not those who break the laws of the USA and then expect all good things handed to them. They are only in it for what they can take, they are in it for only themselves.

Those nations of origin aren't the ones who set the conditions for legal immigration. We do.

The DREAM Act was nothing more than the Latino political lobby spearheaded by Reid to exercise their power.
Yes, that's probably right.

But..here's something we'd all better get used to: Since Hispanics make up the majority of both legal and illegal immigrants to this country, the Hispanic lobby will become more and more influential as time goes by. That's how our democracy works, like it or not.

If it had passed (which it did pass in the House) this bill would have legalized the illegal children and given them the power to also legalize their illegal parents and family (backdoor Amnesty) and been a disaster for this nation.
How?
