now, let me get this straight: it is the fault of the Republicans this bill did not pass. The vote was 41 yes, 55 no; there are not anywhere near 55 Republican senators, so are some of you saying, the Republican senators voted twice???
Let's be honest, this was a by-particin rejection of a bill that was not thought out.
Do we need something? Yes, but first, as mentioned, we need to secure the borders, we need to clamp down on employers who hire illegals, we need to make it not so attractive for illegals to come to America and only then can we try and solve the problem of children who have been part of our society for years by no choice of their own.
The idea of require them to join the military or go to a 2 year JC isn't nearly restrictive enough: I agree with Bentbow: college degree or 2 year degree in hand with good grades or completion of 3 years in the militray. Add to that requiring them to apply for citizenship and pay a fine. When all those requirements are meant and the children have been in absolutely no legal trouble, they can be given amnesty..
We Americans have proved to those illegal alien sumbags, that this is our country. Now while they riot in the streets, I'd love to see how Obama handles this.
Importing poor is never good for your tax base and social services.
Isn't that what we've always imported? Is the nation worse off because of it?
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"---Emma Lazarus.

I'm pretty sure the vote was 55 yes - 41 no. 3 repubs yes & 5 dems no.

Some where since then we've realized we cannot support the World. Ever heard of a stall stuff? We've had immigration laws for quite some time now.
This is a play right out of the move Avatar. We have been heard, now we just need to send them packing. We do more for other Nations than any other on the planet. It doesn't always have to be "let them in".
Is our Nation more worse off because of illegal immigration? You bet it is, since about 1980.

read it and weep.........he STILL doesn't "get it"
