I actually agree with you on this. My sister and I have been planning a protest march for some time. Sadly, our friend who was also involved just passed away a few weeks ago, so we are still reeling a bit from this loss. Jeannine was excellent at rallying others to join in, like she did when we had our Freedom Rally in the Park in 2009.
I firmly believe, based on the comments of some, that when it comes to this type of march people are afraid. The propensity for certain sectors of the Hispanic community to act violently against non-Hispanics who oppose them is a very real threat.
Another worry for some is that their face will show up in an article about the march with the word "racists" emblazoned in the headline. We never see pro-immigration marchers labeled in this way, but you can bet anti-illegal immigration marches will be. This is what they do to shut us down and prevent large scale opposition. If they can't beat us fairly they use intimidation, violence and unfair labels.
You're right abgout that. At TEA Party demonstrations several people carried anti-illegal alien signs, and got called racists, bigots, xenophobes, brown shirts, nazis, terrorists, white supremecists, skinheads, KKK, etc.
Has everyone forgotten protests? The ones where they demanded AMERICANS to LEAVE OUR COUNTRY to "return to England"? Please see YouTube. That this is "their country" and how they spat upon, burned, dragged AMERICAS flag upon the ground? (Something NO true American would EVER do).
Yet recently they saw it availed them nothing from the AMERICAN People so they switched tactics, handed out American flags which were ALWAYS left on the ground afterward. TRUE IMMIGRANTS who come here, love our Country and WORK to GET HERE, appreciate our beautiful system.
How thousands of PAID illegals marched by urgency from La Raza (and other groups backed by) and similar groups tried to overtake OUR LAND?
What;s missing here? Oh, sensibility from those completely uninformed, misinformed and gullible, misdirected passion and totally oblivious to the definition of AMERICA, GROW UP! Please, for the sake of saving your Country!
That bacckfired on them big time, so they were told to carry American flags during their next demonstration, but they had already shown their true colors.

On the other hand, those in opposition to illegal immigration are sitting back, waiting for the government to do something that it is not going to do......we post on message boards, send some faxes or make a few phone calls. All the other side has to do is wait for the middle aged and older generation opposition to die off because the next generation doesn't given a damn....
The problem is whenever someone tries to do anything, they get shot down. CA passes Prop. 187, and a judges rules against it. AZ passes a new law, and ther feds sue them. We had the Minutemen along the border, and they got called racists, bigots, nazis, etc. I believe it was Nancy Pelosi who referred to them as terrorists. The only thing which seems to have worked is the millions of phone calls, faxes, and emails to Congress that shot down the last amnesty.

That is why it is so important that we educate our children and grandchildren about the evils of illegal immigration and how it will negatively impact their future and the future of this country. It is difficult because they are being brought up in a PC world and being brainwashed by the liberal teachers in our schools and lots of other outside influences. They are being swayed by misplaced compassion and an idealism of multi-culterism that has nothing to do with illegal immigration.

Our problem is we have been too nice. We need to borrow a page from pro-illegals and start demonizing and vilifying our opponents -- show them for the traitors they are. When they accuse us of racism, we must counter it by illustrating their subversive behavior. After all, illegal immigration is destroying our country, and the destruction is endorsed by pro-illegals.
