In 2010, 37.3% of poor children were Latino; 30.5% were white and 26.6% were black. The negative milestone reached by Hispanics resulted from their distress amid the difficult economy coupled with their high birth rate, the Pew Report says.
The vast majority of Latino children living in poverty were born in the U.S. More than two-thirds of them, or 4.1 million, have immigrant parents, according to the report.
And so the decline begins. It's interesting that they point out the unemployment rates of Hispanics as related to whites but leave out unemployment levels for blacks. Yet blacks are a part of the comparison in every other area. I guess we shouldn't be concerned for our unemployed blacks.
What percentage of our population will be paying taxes for the rest in the next generation?

According to this study, in 2006, there were 4.1 million impoverished "latino" children but by 2010 that figure exploded to 6.1 million. In just 4 short years, 2 million more impoverishd children. So much for that lie that they're coming to improve themselves, they're coming because giving birth in the USA brings them all kinds of government handouts.
Now they've overtaken both the blacks and the whites and with such a rapid growth of impoverished people, who will pay for the needed welfare programs for them?
And it doesn't seem the USA is having any more success with these people than did their own nations. In fact Mexico's middle class is growing, it seems like it may be time to stop criticizing Mexico for it's failure with poor people when the numbers of these poor is skyrocketing in the USA.

Well, the pandering Obama certainly isn’t. On that, I think I had better go to bed, before I say something inappropriate. I’m just so mad I could eat nails.

It's almost as if between 2006 and 2010 there was some sort of massive economic crisis.

Yes, many would like to deny that this all originated from massive illegal immigration that started decades ago. They would rather claim that many if not most of these parents giving birth are citizens or legal immigrants while ignoring how this all started in the first place. The truth is that a good portion of these citizen "parents" are actually anchor babies themselves.

Yes, that's the other 2 million, but like it points out - 4.1 million of these kids have "immigrant" parents and unless we're now paying legal immigrants too little to raise a family then you can bet most of these 4.1 million kids were born to illegals.
Citizen and legal immigrant hispanics of course have less a welfare problem because they are culturally more inclined to delay the starting of a family until they are in a position to afford a family. Having many children they can never afford is mostly a cultural trait, the reason they left their countries in the first place. Unemployment rates in Mexico are about half of what they are in the USA, so it's not jobs.
I've always said that we will never win the war against poverty while being sympathetic to unchecked immigration. Importation and perpetuation of poverty.
America (Americans) have a choice: Do we want be a land that takes in millions of poor, or do we want to ensure a base level of standard of living and have a functioning safety net?
You can't really have both, and it's a bit unfair to make Americans pay to support the world's poor within their own borders. Resources are limited. It's a dilemma many progressives have not been able to wrap their heads around, or they are not being honest about it.
It is a never ending battle against poverty if you just keep letting in three for every one lifted out of poverty. Especially when resources that could be used to help Americans and our invited and approved immigrants gets diverted to deal with illegal immigrants and their benefits babies. It's especially interesting to me that the birthrate of many "Latino" (whatever that really means) women in their home countries (Mexico, for example), is less than the immigrant birthrate of those same women who come to the United States. Sure is easy to have babies when other people are paying for it, right?
