You do not have to have Mexican Indian blood to be a hispanic -- many hispanics are pure European, many have pure African roots. Mexican isn't a race, it's a citizenship of a country of Mexico. His ancestors were citizens of Mexico.

Vicente Fox himself had a grandfather who was born in the USA and he was president of Mexico.

I realize that there are those of Mexican nationality whose ancestors were from Ireland, England, etc. My point was that most Mexicans have Spanish and indigenous blood (which is race) and Mitt has neither and he isn't Hispanic culturally either. I hope I have made that clearer for you.

I'm sorry, but his father is Mexican which at least makes him a Mexican-American (which of course is nothing to be ashamed of). As his father is Mexican we must see a birth certificate, LONG FORM, to prove Mitt's citizenship and eligibility to run for president.

Agreed. Mitt's just as Hispanic as Jeb Bush's kids through Columba. Tho Mitt's mom was a natural born American.

Both parties suck on this issue. Conservatives love the cheap and docile labor the illegals bring. They get to pat themselves on the back for their enlightenment AND punish the middle class with higher taxes, overcrowded schools and increased insurance premiums. It's a win-win for them and the reason Reagan handed out amnesty.

The Hispanic vote isn't as consequential as the media would have you believe. They have horrendous turnout rates, nearly 20% below blacks, who btw run about even with the white turnout rate. Also they tend to be concentrated in large states which are already ideologically one sided in one direction (NY and Cali to the Left, Texas to the Right). Only Florida can they or any other group for that matter swing the state.

In Florida the two largest Hispanic groups Cubans and Puerto Ricans, are immune from illegal immigration. Cubans get residency for touching US soil and Puerto Ricans have been citizens from birth for nearly 100 years now.

One could make the argument for the Hispanic impact being felt in states like Nevada and Colorado but I'd argue the Non-Hispanic newcommers to these states are just as critical if not moreso since they're more likely to head to the polls than Hispanics.

I think both parties are guilty of loving the cheap labor. The Democrats however have another vested interest and that is amnesty for votes.

Not sure what Reagan's motivation was for signing the 1986 amnesty but he later regretted it because the border wasn't secured as promised.

The difference between Mitt and Jeb's kids is that they had a Hispanic mom. Not so in the case of Mitt Romney. Nationality is an entirely different issue.

Exactly! It won't make a bit of difference who occupies the White House, because nothing will be done. Illegal immigration is now considered a "civil rights" issue, and only "racists" oppose these fine folks.
