Nea1, the problem with taking 38 million people out of the U.S sounds near to impossible. How are you supposed to find these people and do a thorough background check?

No we cant take them out, sounds like a good idea but not realistic. BUT, you can make life as unbearable as possible for them to come and be here, then you will see them leave on their own.

Yea but see.. all the Illegals are having Legal children. Wait about 40 years and they will continue to die off. And there will be even more Mexicans living here even if they are deported or not.

Not all illegals have kids that were born here, the kids can go or not, parents must leave. I dont care if there are Mexicans here as long as they are legal. My neighbors are from Mexico, legally, they told me the whole story, and they are the nicest people. I love their parties!!!

In all fairness; that '38 million' illegal number sounds bogus to me (too high).

Factoring in the 1-2 anchor baby average per illegal may equal 38 million illegal immigrants and their descendants altogether which tallies out to maybe 15 million actual illegals.

The cold reality is that Mexicans are not exactly big 'breeders' anymore------2.4 children per woman today vs. 5.7 back in 1975.

Arizona, if you are from Arizona, you should know that there are A LOT of Mexicans there. And if you have ever been to California, you would know what the 38 million is representing. In one city, Hispanics made White people are Minority.

You're conflating a POTENTIAL figure representing ALL illegals of ALL nationalities with "Mexicans." Around my parts, most of the people we flippantly refer to as "Mexicans" are more often 4'2" Guatemalan Mayans (ya know, the types that Mexico keeps out of its borders).

We all know that the 12 million number is bogus since they have been using that same number since the year 2000, like no illegals have come into the country since then. Hah!!!! The 38 million is probably pretty darn close. The 38 million is not just Mexicans anyway. It happens to be ALL illegals.

The fact that the article is written by Tamar Jacoby tells me everything I need to know. She is about as impartial and open minded as David Duke.

This article a big big lie. Just like before illegals came, wages were doing well and housing and other cost was low. With illegals gone we'd have many less services and products needed. L.A. Times is not selling for years now it's well known to the public, this is because they are very liberal. I've read such bizarre author opinions in L.A. times, such as Rose Brooks bashing white people and praising hispanics, both to the extreme, you can never forget reading nonsense like this!
