I don't believe that the 14th Amendment meant to guarantee automatic birthright citizenship to those born here of non-citizen parents.

Why limit work visas? Because Americans need jobs.

Vast majority of work visas are granted to two countries; Philippines and India AKAIK. I stand to be corrected, probably, but this seems to be the most likely case. I'm very positive that the Japanese I know are not going to drag down wages the way Filipinos and Indians do. Why would they? Japan is a more developed country than the US, jobs pay more there. They are here because they love living here, when they could probably have a better, albeit crowded and earthquake prone, life in Japan.

In another thread, in the last half hour, I referenced a talk show interview on San Diego radio last week. One issue the liberal guest mentioned was that 31000 farm workers were out of work due to the drought, many of them dairy. I thought of the OP when he said that. Are these dairy farmers even bothering to advertise their openings in CA.
