I see what you're doing. You taking a few gang members in comparison to millions of people, and are trying to use THEM to represent the struggle of an immigrant who dreams of a better life for themselves and their children.

It's obvious that you are privileged individual who would never be threatened by the violence of these entities. The average white or black male is not threatened by these gangs for the time being (although the latter is debatable in Los Angeles). So you can afford to be an armchair activist for these people who would probably never hurt you or your family. But if you were a young Latino male or looked like it and were approached by these gang bangers on a regular basis, you would be singing a different tune. Disprove me on that. You are indifferent to the scary crimes these low-lives perpetrate because it hasn't effected your privileged behind, yet. This is the reason why rich white guys who own businesses have no bones about hiring illegal immigrant gang members. Try being a young Latino male or even looking like one and try to find a job these days. Chances are, when you finally find a job, regardless of your education level, you might be working alongside a bunch of these gang bangers who will want to know "what set you rep". These gangs kill thousands of people a year and you have no problem with them coming to America?!
And since you are sooo inviting of immigrants into your country, then why don't we start allowing millions of poor people from Asia to migrate here as well. The stereotype of Asians being the model minority would evaporate in a millisecond as these immigrants would be willing to work for less than Central American immigrants. And these poor immigrants would also form gangs as well because poorer Asians do gang bang just like blacks and Latinos in my home state of California which has the highest concentration of impoverished Asians in America. The reason why most African and Asian immigrants in America seem so successful and educated in comparison to native-born minority groups is because the flow of immigration across the seas can be extremely controlled and scrutinized. America only allows monied and educated Asians and Africans to move here, by in large, other than a much smaller population of poorer Asians (i.e. Cambodian refugees in the 80's, Hmong, Laotians) in seedier pockets of California. Illegal immigration in America south of the border is inevitable because the U.S./Mexico border is an imaginary line that is not divided by thousands of miles of deep ocean.
If and when the financial collapse hits, you will be singing a different tune. What we have now in America is completely unsustainable. The majority of American people today rely on foodstamps, welfare or some kind of handout from Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam can't afford to do that forever. Our American dollars are set to lose much value very soon. When the sh*t hits the fan, people like you will be very sorry for welcoming in millions of illegals and taking the millions of the only honest jobs left in America.

I respect you being so truthful with your life. This is what I like, not a bunch of bull typed on this forum. I hope things turn around for you here in 2014. And want you to know inspite all the hoopla of how great things are going with the economy and jobs.

Excellent post, Gunlover!!! Especially because of all of the rational resources you posted. I've read through (and posted) a few of the same references. Only, instead of the 6.3 Trillion, I cited $9 trillion...because the economists "estimated" that some illegals will eventually (through amnesty), pay taxes, which would lower it to $6.3 trillion. I don't know about that...we'll see!

This is what food stamps, welfare, etc, is for. To help people who are in your situation for awhile, until they get back on their feet. It never was intended to be a lifetime solution for illegal people to have 12 kids with.
I had 3 children and no medical insurance at those times. We had to pay for the doctor and the hospital before the baby was born. With my 3rd we had them paid off, but, I had to have an emergency C Section, which added more than $10,000 to the bill. I was still in the recovery room, and they came in wanting that money right then! We couldn't do it, so we set up payments. There was probably an illegal in the next room being treated like a queen by our tax dollars, and hospital personnel are not allowed to ask them for any money at all! It was probably her 12th baby, and here I was, having to hurry to get back to work so I could pay for mine and her bills. I'm not positive they were illegals, but when an adult doesn't understand English, it's a pretty safe bet.

Dandi, Jess5 and BOS2IAD: it'll be Ok. At least I've got friends here in the Bullhead area who are worried about me and, being a US citizen, I CAN get some help which is huge. It's crazy: I've NEVER gotten food stamps or "needed them" till starting a year ago AND I'm almost 50. I've usually been able to carry the load but not now. It is what it is.
