HOUSTON (AP) — A federal judge in Texas has kept in place a temporary hold on President Barack Obama's executive action that sought to shield millions of immigrants from deportation, rejecting a U.S. Department of Justice request that he allow the action to go ahead.

Judge denies request to let immigration action take effect

More and more people are pushing back against any kind of amnesty for illegal aliens, thank God.

If you really appreciate Judge Hanen's actions and strength in standing strong against the Obama administration, call his chambers at (956) 548-2629. It doesn't take a minute and the encouragement is welcome by the judge and his staff.

Hooray! Good for America. Bad for Obama.

They already tried, but the judge believes they lied to him, so he is in no mood to acquiesce.

No, they will just make any record of him paying taxes in 2009 or 2010 disappear or some other "progressive" resolution.

Good for Judge Hanen.

The recent 5th Circuit Court of Appeals hearing on the matter wasn't favorable to the pro-amnesty position of the administration either. Truth be told, the administration's only shot at winning is to convince the courts that its decision to grant working papers and other benefits to illegal immigrants is protected by law. They are making such an argument, pointing to authorization via another law that's been on the books for decades. The only problem with that law, however, is that it cannot possibly be meant to apply to people that Congress, by other explicit legislation, has ordered to be deported. Simply put, a law allowing the executive to grant certain benefits to certain classes of immigrants cannot possibly apply to illegal immigrants who should not be in the country to begin with (well, to be clearer, it doesn't apply to the vast majority of illegal immigrants . . . it could possibly apply to illegal immigrants seeking political asylum, etc., but that's another story and doesn't represent legitimately the reason for the great majority of this recent wave of illicit behavior).
