And BTW, 40-50% of illegals are visa over-stayers, many of them working what were middle income jobs such as accounting or computer programming, which would gladly be done by Americans if given the opportunity.

It should be every Americans "motion" to rid our country of illegal aliens including yourself. And yes, removing all of the incentives for them to remain here would make it happen. Why would they remain here with no means to support themselves? Why wouldn't Trump along with congress be able to mandate e-verify across the board?

By the way, only 2-3% of illegals are picking lettuce, etc. The rest are doing jobs that Americans have always done and would do again with the exit of illegal aliens out of our country. They were already doing those jobs when millions of illegals flooded our borders and the greedy employers took advantage of the cheap labor. They lost their jobs to them so no it has nothing to do with laziness on the part of the American worker.

All you have to do here is go down to "Work and Employment" and see the people looking for jobs, others in the "Education" forum.

Doesn't most of the produce come from Mexico anyway? Seems all the produce at our stores in KS come from there unless is locally grown and you get it from the Farmer's Market. We need more Amish and not illegals. Amish will grow it, pick it and take it to down to the market! I never see anyone locally hiring for people to pick produce, mostly you buy/pick yourself or the family takes care of it. And, no, it is not more expensive to buy local as we support our local economy and I try hard to buy USA made.

Nothing faster than granting them ALL full amnesty.

Then we can put our resources on more pressing matters, like finding cures for deadly diseases like Cancer, Alzheimer's, HIV, tackling issues which cripple this country like racism, sexism, ageism, terrorism, giving the best care possible for the elderly, veterans, the sick, and the handicapped, and make higher education accessible to all. So much more we can do with the time and money it would take to try to legislate, pass, engage in legal fights, and implement this bigoted, idiotic Trump pipe dream.

Yes, we saw that in action in silicon valley before the popularity of H1Bs took off. Cronyism and the good old boys club flourished as the white guys hired, supported, promoted, and protected each other to the exclusion of everyone else, especially qualified blacks. Good old days I suppose for those who want immigrants to go away.

We get that you are for open borders and amnesty. Anyone who cares for the future of our country is against those things. You need to wake up!

Now put that race card away. It doesn't work anymore. There is nothing bigoted about expecting those who want to immigrate here to do so in accordance with our immigration laws. Every country in the world has immigration laws. Why do you think that the US should be the exception?

^Exactly!

I aim to buy produce that's grown in the US---and look for any locally grown items. Sometimes, it means sifting through all the varieties of tomatoes at the supermarket to see where they were grown until I find some that were grown in this country.

How fast never these 11million people help the economy in so many ways. If you throw them out who builds roads building roofing and mows your lawn these are jobs Americans do not want they a are willing to take. If you truly want to get rid of them I want you be a roofer in Texas for 2 yrs then you will understand why we need these people.
