It’s a simple distinction that has vast implications. If they’re migrants, the administration has maintained that they need to be detained and deported, with the end goal to ultimately stop the migration at its source. But if we’re talking about refugees (or legally speaking, asylum-seekers), then they must be processed, vetted and ultimately welcomed into the U.S. with open arms. One description definitively does not fit – “illegal.” Migrants have the legal right to present themselves at U.S. ports and ask for protection.
IMHO if a person has a legit case of wanting asylum; they would be Ok being held in a camp till their case is heard. If they refuse; deport their kind on sight.

Well in Europe it should just be called islamic invader. The US has a couple issues. 1)No border security 2) h1b visa abuses 3) student visa abuses. No doubt is intentional. Democrat party members want it to improve the demographics to favor them in elections. Republicans are bought and paid for by the big silicon valley corporations who want cheap labor.

Silicon Valley use cheap labor? I don't think so. SV needs smart and well educated technology workers. I have never seen an H1-B visa holder paid less than his/her US citizen counterpart at any of the tech companies where I spent almost 25 years (and continue to do so). In HR, I processed many H1-B visa holders who had to jump through hoops to get that status, as well as the companies sponsoring them. What a pain. And expensive, too. With a lot of special rules that need to be followed.
There are other visas that have much less restrictions (F-1, for example) that are often abused (overstaying in the US).
I understand IT mills hire/bring in H1-B workers for much lower pay to farm out, although I have never encountered nor worked with any of those contractors.
