Very easy to obtain entrance from the US/Canadian border that is un-walled.
If walls aren't a deterrant to illegal entry then why do we have walls around our homes and businesses? It is not as easy to enter Canada as it is the U.S. They are smarter than we are.
I don't care if the wall costs 200 billion. There is no price worth too great to protect a nation security and sovereignty. It's unimaginable that the most powerful Nation on Earth, which incidentally is probably going to make it the most hated, is arguing about whether they should protect its borders! Is literally laughable! Has there ever been a nation in the existence of humanity that hasn't cared about its borders or who enters its country?

The wall will work as long as the job market for illegals dries up and everyone caught is detained until they are deported or cleared.

A wall is a child's answer to a complex issue. You can find ways to tunnel under it or ways to sneak through it, or go over it....they are right next door, they can get in a boat - sail away a bit and come ashore. In the past many have been smuggled in trucks right through the border patrol.
But most, obtain visa's and fly in. Then overstay the Visas.
They come to obtain money as their is money to be had here by obtaining employment that can help their families.
Maybe try going after the employers who take advantage of them, as opposed to going after poor desperate people just trying to feed and take care of their family.
Actually the numbers have decreased since NAFTA was enacted because they can obtain better employment in their own country, so many left and went back home to work. But Looks like President Snowflake is working on that right now
and when we leave NAFTA then they will probably have need to come back to America to work.

And instead of using our tax money to pay the billions for this wall...he should set up a Go fund me Page so his minions can pay for the wall. We need to cut down our budget, not increase it.
I wonder if any of these people against the wall have fences around their houses? In all seriousness, it will take a multi-pronged approach to be successful. More border security along with modifications to and enforcement of, employment law. If employers hire illegal they will be severely punished! Develop a reasonable "legal" immigration plan and no benefits to those that are here illegally.

They are protecting their own.....80% of the problem goes away if the laws against HIRING illegal immigrants is enforced. But Trump WH wants to PROTECT businesses. All this populism theme of his is pure BS.
I'm starting to change my mind on the debate of whether a wall will work. I think, if in addition to the wall, you add a ton of security measures along the walls you can probably make it work, like drones, sensors, landmines, as well as guard stations and additional personnel while spending untold amounts of money it can potentially work. The problem is, this is a complete and utter waste of money, time and is nothing more than a distraction. By the time they start putting down fresh concrete the new incoming president in 4 years will have stopped construction. Illegal immigrants, whom most actually fly in from central america, are by far and away not the problems facing our country. But it gives dumb americans an enemy to rally against so they can easily ignore the real problems in america.
Everyone has pretty much heard at this point that there will be a multi-faceted approach to controlling our border.

It most certainly stop many. Unfortunately because of liberal whining, pulling the illegals and their anchors off the welfare system would probably take more effort than the Wall. No word to be uttered. He is going to untie the hands of border enforcement agents and that goes hand-in-hand with a return to workplace raids. Not true. The majority of illegals come through our southern border on foot they make up 60% of the illegals in our country. Only 40% are visa over stayers and we need to address both of those problems but in a different way of course.
Ever heard of tunnel sensors? Migrants looking for work or other benefits are not digging tunnels it's the drug cartels. There are ways to deter illegal aliens from coming here no matter how they try to get here. It doesn't matter why they come here they have no right to do that. Americans have families to feed also and yet these illegals steal their jobs. We've all agreed that going after the employers is one of the solutions but it's not the only one. Criminals and terrorists aren't looking for jobs.
When millions of them leave then you can back with us. The number that have left is only a drop in the bucket compared to how many are still here.

Illegal aliens cost us $113 billion a year and the wall will be around $25 billon so it's cost effective. That will actually decrease our budget.
