I'm fine w/ unskilled immigrants coming in, so long as they are somewhat English literate, have enough money to support themselves for 3+ months, have a traceable background w/ no felony convictions, are healthy, & have a sponsor here.

But that's the problem those unskilled jobs do not pay enough for them to support themselves. Most of them do not speak English either. Who would actually sponsor them and be willing to pay for their upkeep? What about the added stress on our schools, healthcare facilities, natural and social resources?

Unless we do away with birthright citizenship for their kids they'd be able to tap into our welfare dollars to.

There is no reliable database to check their criminal backgrounds from their homeland, save Western Europe and a few East Asian countries.

Enough money to support themselves for 3+ months? Isn’t that counterintuitive to their economic plight? They should have 1 year minimum funds to sustain themselves and in that case, should come legally anyway.

Your English literacy requirement would pretty much disqualify 98% of them.

Exactly, just as they say when an illegal alien rapes, murders or kills someone in a DUI, that American citizens do all those things also.
Of course bad American citizens do such things, but that does not mean we want other countries criminals flooding into our country.
Rest assures some of the illegals are wanted criminals in their own country, but can just walk across our border and say they are being persecuted in their own country, and want asylum.

When Carter allowed Castro to empty his jails and insane asylums and send them all over here, the good Cubans were aghast at Carter allowing such. Not only would that look bad on the law abiding Cubans who wanted to assimilate into American culture with a good reputation, but they also knew those criminals and mentally deranged people would be harming them as well.

Yep, Their intentionally watering down the actual benefits citizenship entails. If a war broke out though, you can be assured they would calling upon patriotic Americans to fight the good fight for love of country.

That’s one of the reasons I don’t support helping Ukraine with so much of our tax dollars and other national resources. They can’t have it both ways.

I keep forgetting that the pro-illegals act like we have no reason to be angry over this.
I'm a bit confused. So dangerous criminals or terrorists were arrested, right? Isn't that a good thing? If the news was, "Dangerous criminals were successfully able to pass through the border," I can understand the outrage. But in this case, they were caught/arrested, like they were supposed to.

What are you guys outraged about?

They have to have a sponsor to get a green card.

We aren't angry that they were caught. We are angry at the attempts and those who didn't get caught!

Is anyone here an advocate of wide open borders?

If so, please explain how we counter the exposure to terorists, cartels, & other bad actors entering...& the lethal drugs?
