"People want more border security, and less immigration"

Correct, but our gov't is ignoring the will of the people, so remember that come November 2024.
Correction. Fertility rates are dropping like a rock everywhere. Globally, we’ll be at replacement level fertility in a decade or so.

Legal immigration levels to keep our population from declining only, is fine. What we have now is a pyramid scheme and a mass growth scheme.

Social Security levels can be raised above its cap, which would shore up the system for another century, or more.

Why wait to be asked? Offer to sponsor them since you are so supportive of the illegal invasion of our country including these bogus asylum seekers. Put your money where your mouth is!

I have a better idea how about sponsoring some down on their luck Americans who need help?

I`ve been a church going Catholic for 69 years and helping the less fortunate is what I do as much as I can. I contribute to Catholic relief services when I`m able to. Housing an immigrant in my rural home would not help them at all. They need to be where the jobs are because that is what they came here for. The same reason that my 4 grandparents with my father and his brother came here. Yes, they did the paperwork and the illegals haven`t. So what?

Since when does Catholicism approve of helping law breakers? They aren't just the less fortunate they have violated our immigration laws or lied claiming asylum. Illegal aliens aren't plain ole immigrants either. No one has the right to work here unlawfully. It's a "so what" with you if someone breaks our laws? You might consider stop going to church then as that makes you a hypocrite!

As I said, why not help our less fortunate citizens instead? There are plenty of them that are in need.
