WASHINGTON - Outside Arizona, the Valley of the Sun is losing its shine.

Phoenix's bright image as a Mecca for golfers, conventioneers and snowbirds is being clouded over by dark tales of brutal Mexican drug cartels snatching rival smugglers from Valley homes and holding them for ransom.
Arizona Republic article

Keep it up; you insolent illegal alien drug cartel losers, just keep it up-------------your antics are enraging more and more Americans by the day.

I swear; the reporting of incidents concerning illegal immigration/swine flu/drug cartels as they affect the USA are becoming less sympathetic as time goes on

Almost every congressional hearing that mentions invokes the city's unwelcome new moniker as "the kidnapping capital of America," a title repeated in newspaper headlines from Los Angeles to London. Although the 725 kidnappings-for-ransom reported in Phoenix during the past two years have been mostly bad guys abducting other bad guys from drophouses full of smuggled immigrants and drugs, congressional leaders are publicly warning that that could change.
"Innocent victims are at risk of being caught in the crossfire," said Sen. Joe

Lieberman, I-Conn., during a recent meeting of the Senate Homeland Security Committee. He is chairman of the committee, whose Monday hearing in Phoenix on border violence helped shine a national spotlight on the problem.
That spotlight is intense: National and international news outlets talk dramatically about the brutal drug wars that are spilling over the border and into cities across America,
Nothing like losing money to wake up the dead. We all saw this coming and there is no excuse in the world that they can make for not sealing that border the day after 9-11. What a bunch of hypocritical asshats .. . .. .

I went to a DBacks game a couple of weeks ago, and then walked through downtown Phoenix taking pictures. I guess I could have been kidnapped, doesn't mean it's ever gonna happen.

It seems to me like it's a case of people being ignorant of a city. And assuming the worst from what the see and read from the sensationalist press.

The cartels in Mexico are silenced with the presence of the military. I have met people here in Mexico who live in the border on the Mexican side and say it is currently very peaceful and enjoying life. They say that they rarely hear of any violence any more.

We all know that the drug cartels won't stop coming into the US killing Americans and destroying our country until WE stop them.

I can't wait until they seal the border. Only then will we finally get our country back and be free of those who have invaded it.
