I don’t recall anyone stating that the U.S. is a perfect nation. However, allowing our country to be overrun by millions of foreign nationals will certainly NOT improve it. It’s rather annoying for an immigrant to convey such utter disdain toward a country they have “chosen” as their home. Apparently, you are included among the ranks of those who are only here for personal gain.
There is nothing you can say that will convince me, that unless we grant amnesty to millions of ingrate illegal aliens, we are not a “decent” nation.

I have already stated why we don’t need to waste money deporting millions of illegals. All we have to do is enforce our existing laws. By law, they are ineligible to work in this country. If they can’t work, they can’t survive. If we also eliminate ALL freebies, please tell me, what recourse will they will have other than return home.
They are only able to remain in this country because they are able to work, buy food (or get it from welfare), receive free maternity care, obtain subsidized housing, use our ER’s as their primary care physicians; and the list goes on. Eliminate ALL of this, and we will have few illegal aliens remaining in this country.
Every third world nation is like that? Didn't know that. Also that is a large reason as well. Colonialism and neocolonialism is a HUGE factor in the current economic disparity between nations.
Well; care to explain how S Korea, Botswana, Spain and a few other nations were able to build itself into economic powerhouses from basket cases----------yet, most of Africa is still in the gutter?

Portugal and Ireland have also shown positive economic growth. Ireland was once the poor man of Europe, now they are turning things around. These countries serve as examples for others. China and India have also moved alot of people into the middle class.

Again, cultures share A LOT of similarities. All main cultures (sub cultures and counter cultures not included, though they may have some of these tenents). Work (from Africa to Asia, to Europe, to Latin America etc...all cultures have a work ethic). Education (be it history or formal, there is a desire to educate the young in all socieites). Cooperation.
So with that said, being human is the biggest trait between the different cultures. Sounds self evident when you read it, but you seem to write these twisted analyses of how "Third World" cultures can't cope in the western world. Citing examples of lack of societal guilt (which is not true whatsoever...hence religions, to absolve guilt and do right to fellow man and diety), the possibility of complete subordination of women (which, unfortunately, happen(s)(ed) in all cultures...even our own), reckless criminality (this one really bugs me, it seems as if people believe that the Third World has no morals. Geez).
All cultures aren't equal, but they all share A LOT of commonalities, because they all stem from the same species. All cultures do strive for one thing, betterment.
What I think you may be confusing is the aversion, or in fact the outright refusal to assimilate in this country. Other cultures do it. Africans come to this country and while they are free and proud wearing their garbs and have their ethnic stores and restaurants, they speak english and try to assimilate.
And as far as racists being anti-illegal immigration, that's rather strange since one of the first groups fighting against illegal workers being brought in was Cesar Chavez and the UFW.
Cesar Chavez was actually joined in a march to the border by Ralph Abernathy and Walter Mondale -- to protest illegal immigration and lack of border enforcement.
Cesar Chavez was not a racist. He was simply a union organizer who realized that the big corporation farms were using illegals to undercut wages and keep farm workers from having the same labor rights as factory workers and other workers.
The UFW declared May 10th International Grape Boycott Day. Throughout the year, shipments of California table grapes were stopped in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Montreal and Toronto. In England, British dockworkers refused to unload California grapes.
Chavez organized a march from the Coachella and Imperial Valleys to the United States-Mexico border to protest the use of undocumented immigrants from Mexico as strike breakers. He is joined along the way by the Rev. Ralph Abernathy and Senator Walter Mondale.
During contract renegotiations, the farm workers union added clauses which called for the regulation of pesticide use and its exposure to the workers.
Chavez and union leaders picketed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to protest pesticide hazards.
