My heart goes out to everyone in Haiti it realy does, but there is a HUGE problem with this. Weve already been taken over by illegals in this country, and because of it we are suffering. There are NO jobs to give these people. Those of us that were born and raised in America cant even find work to support our children. Were being forced to learn other languages to graduate. Those around us that do work have nothing to show for it...why? because the illegals are living for free. We feed them for free, educate them for free, give them free health care, low income housing, when they are arrested for stealing, murder, rape, and abuse we are paying for it and the crime rate has climbed big time since that bill was passed. Our enployment rate dropped. Stores that have been around for hundreds of years are going bankrupt. Ive been told by I dont know how many people they were going to fire theire whole staff and hire twice as many illegals. 2 illegals for the price of 1 American. We have no money to give these people. Im not racist by any means, I applaud the immegrants that come here to become a citizen and make a better life for themselve and children, those that plan to stay here til their dying days. The ones that come to get leech us of our money and go home to be rich.... I loath. Someone once stated that they dont stand up to their governement, yet we dont stand up to ours. It doesnt matter what we think or want because our government simply doesnt care about us Americans, they care more bout what other countries think of us and making sure they are taken care of first. If we could deport all the illegals, say to hell with the bill, then in times of disaster like what happened in Haiti we could offer more help without it hurting us Americans more.

Agree on both points....

NO we shouldn't.Did we take in refugees from Rwanda,Darfur or Indonesia ?
It is not the USA's problem.Lack of infrastructure, poverty in Haiti is the Haitian government's problem. If we took in people from around the world after every natural disaster we would no longer be a sovereign nation,we would be a penniless third world hovel.By all means any Americans that wish to donate to relief efforts should do so.We should have learned a lesson in the 70's when Castro sent boatloads of his citizens to the US and Carter accepted them. Not only did we get the deserving we also got the undeserving(criminally minded) to strain resources in the communities thet settled in and the increased crime they brought.

Again, what do we do when the boat loads come ashore? Thousands and thousands will come and will be moved to small towns all over America without jobs and facing incredible culture shock.

"Those that arrive by boat should be given temporary help and then returned to Haiti to help with the rebuilding effort in their country"

If D.R can do it being that they are a much poorer country, we should too.
And what exactly will this do for the USA. In other words what do they bring to us that we can't do ourselves? Charity starts at home. We have quite a few needy US citizens that need help before we can even consider helping those who either refuse to help themselves or are content to hope and pray someone else will do it for them.

That would be all nice and dandy if we had help to temporarily give them. For every two of them that comes here for help 1 American will lose their job. We cant do anything to stop them unless you wanna gather everyone up and stand on the borders demanding they go back.

Only if every other developed Country takes their fair share. Maybe we can toss some of our existing illegals in with those loads too.

Angry you solved the problem... You are perfect.
WE can ship to haiti all our HARD Working HONEST Illegals. You know the ones who built this nation inspite of the evil Americans.
They know how to build a nation the size of the USA. Haiti will take them a week 2 max.
They are honest. They will get rid of the corruption in Haiti.
They are hard working. They will keep the new haiti Beautiful
The problem is solved. I nominate Angry tax payer for the nobel peace prize.

I never said to give them a job....
I simply said to give them help.......such as temp shelter, a quick medical check up for any diseases, etc, and then return them to Haiti to participate in the re-building effort.

What would You suggest?
