Hard to say for as a belly dancing teacher once pointed out to me, without FB, I would miss so much.

FB falls into an interesting complexity for while there is a lot of cuddly stuff like belly dancing and kittens, lots of people use it for their political activism......ruining it.

The best option I have found so far is to time table it. Have a certain time when I look and then, go elsewhere. That's the plan but so far, it hasn't worked yet for we are programmed to scroll and scroll and scroll!

I guess I am going to try Parlor. Reddit is weird, but I will try that as well.

Facebook keeps banning me for the most absurd "infractions" at this point. I will make true (fact-based) statements, and voila...I will get hit with another 30-day ban these days from the Facebook henchmen.

To hell with them.

Gab: Everything you need to know about the fast-growing, controversial social network:
Gab, an alternative social media network popular with conservatives, the alt-right and some extremists, is surging in popularity after conservative social network Parler was effectively taken off the internet in the wake of the January 6 Capitol siege.
The platform has been criticized for hosting hate-filled, violent speech...

Parlor is weird - not sure I get it yey. Maybe on my comp it will make more sense.

City Data is actually a pretty decent alternative to Facebook, all things considered. Different layout as a forum, but good for sure.

That does bring up an interesting question......what do we look to FB or any social media for?

Wouldn't this depend on what you use these platforms for?

I use Facebook mainly for their Marketplace. So I'm guessing the best alternative to FB for me would be ebay or craigslist?

I also use it sometimes to get local news (like my neighborhood) - but I also use a reddit sub for that. And Next-door is likely also something that works.

I can sort of follow all news sources I want there. Local news, conservative news options - and I like to voice my (clearly controversial, some times) opinion on some of the local news stories.

They are cracking down hard at FB at this point - any opinion they don't like and wammo....you're suspended again.

You rely on Facebook... for News? There really are people like that?!?

Frankly I am totally tired of the Facebook Warriors like you that feel the need to comment, usually using caps, on anything you see that goes against your beliefs. Maybe just don't? You aren't changing anyone's' mind and only stressing yourself out.
