If it was true markets would be soaring since no one could lose money.

Instead we retraced to where we just about were 16 years ago adjusted for inflation.

This is why it is imperative for individual investors to have written Investment Policy Statements in advance. Those written statements can help prod the individual investor to take actions consistent with their pre-thought out policies.

Failing to have a well thought-out IPS is akin to just winging it.
