It's about to be the only state in the continental US that will be without a Five Guys. Is it that folks in Iowa don't want one, that they don't want to expand into Iowa, or something else entirely?

Heck, even Wyoming and South Dakota have one...

Why do we need that when we have the "Tavern" loose meat sandwiches. They still have them and personally I'd rather patronize a local establishment rather than some trendy franchise.

Ewww, I may be in the minority, but I don't think you're missing anything. Those burgers are much too greasy, and the whole restaurant smells like ketchup!

Is anyone really finding it hard to get a good burger in Iowa now? I doubt it. I"m sure Five Guys is fine. I'm also sure we're no better or no worse without it.

For me personally, Mide-rite comes to mind when we're talking about Iowa originated loose meat sandwiches.

I think it might depend on which part of the state you come from.
