Please take a moment and read carefully with an open mind.

It is foolhardy to drive to Iowa in January without a job in hand.

You can't stay in your car, and you may end up being arrested, esp. if temps are -10 and you are trying to sleep in your car. The police don't tolerate stuff like that. They won't be kind: you'll be treated like a criminal.

Please understand: you ARE NOT AN IOWA RESIDENT. You can't count on help. People are nice up here, but many are stretched financially, and MASON is not doing that well.

You either need a job in hand or wait until April.

I'm not being an a----. Our church used to help people like you make a new start, but we are OUT OF MONEY.

So, please, try to find help in your state. You stand a much better chance. Instead of contacting Sally Army (etc) up here, contact them in your state. Keep knocking on doors.

Craig's List is iffy. But you can use Airbnb and probably find several single rooms in the area of which the owners have been vetted. I see one in Emery, IA nearby for $30-something a night.
