After you buy a house and close on it in a CDD development, can the CDD fee's be raised any time they decide to build something new, like a school or a waterpark or whatever?

Yes, the operations and maintenance portion of the CDD can be increased. From my understanding the CDD can also issue special assessments on each landowner for capital improvements.

I've been told that they can only do that, though, with permission of the board through a vote. So the homeowners have some control over it.

Hello,
I am a fairly new resident of DC South and have children that currently go to Hickory Creek Elementary. I believe I will probabaly one of those families that have kids move to the new school next year. Can you please tell me if the CDD fee will raise as a result?

I think checking directly with the CDD is the only way to know for sure.

Great news. When is the planned opening?

Nocatee is supposed to start sometime in the next few months and open for the 2014 school year.

According to the school district, the Durbin school will open in time for the start of the 2014-2015 school year as well.
