its not that cold for very long. its going to be 80 in central FL today. i've worn a sweatshirt like 3x this winter so far.

I agree, Northern FL and Southern Ga, very similar. It's like Western NC and Eastern TN, also very similar. You dont know when you left one and entered the other, so obviously no surprise that they are very similar.

Virginia Key station is a buoy, not sure it's the best representation. Official high at MIA was 73°. Either way the northern part of the state saw bigger anomalies for sure.

Most of the time, yes. However there is the occasional damming event/wedge front that can hit south GA from the northeast and not make it to Florida. There was one day last winter (can't remember which) where the temp difference between Savannah and Jax was like 20 degrees. Usually such days are accompanied by rain and fog.

I moved to Jax from Miami and I own parkas and long puffer jackets, I did freeze this winter 😄
