Any tips on where to park if public lots are closed? The beach is still open so please save the warnings about the virus. I'm from JAX so i'm not super familiar with places to park further south.

If I had somewhere to park I surely wouldn't share it here, or with you. Stay home.

The point of closing the parking lots was to keep people off the beaches. Listen to them!

FLturd. Your username is fitting.

BTW, the parks are for St. Johns Co. residents. And they should be closed. And you need to stay home.

How does going to the beach spread the virus? Apparently the SJC comissioners agree with me and not ya'll...so there's that.

They have proven time and time again to have little grasp on reality and a keen inability to see what are obvious reactions to events happening in the future. Let's approve building 50,000 new homes in a 10 mile radius with no new schools or roads. Let's keep our beaches and parking lots open amid a pandemic with beaches to the north and south of us totally closed....yeah, that's not going to create crowds. Let's just close the parking lots now, not the beaches. On and on and on.....

The beaches will be there this summer/fall and into the future. Just stay home for a while longer and see how this pans out. If you go to the beach, maybe you have to fill up on gas going there or back. Maybe you stop for food. Maybe someone with the virus stops and chats with you on the beach or parks their stuff near you. Maybe you grab a virus-covered handrail walking up to the beach. Dozens of scenarios can happen that would cause you to catch and/or spread the virus. STAY HOME.

* Y'all.

Also, they're wrong. I saw an opinion poll taken on channel 4 last night about this very subject. 74% of respondents agree that the beached should be closed.

They are fighting to reopen the beaches up here on Amelia.

I am not going to say what’s right or wrong but with Jax beaches closed last weekend we were heavily overwhelmed with beach goers. The decision then came to close the beaches at 5 PM. Of course a lot of that was those that drive on the beach, but I don’t think we have more than 2000 parking spaces between city and county at our beaches. A good bit are taken up by patrons of local businesses at the beach.

We never planned for the growth here.

St Aug locals want the beach open but only to locals who can go for a surf, ride their bike or go out for a stroll. They don't want visitors which is what they were hoping for with this whole idea. They should know better though.

Parking near any SJC beaches with the lots open is challenging enough, now with them closed I imagine it's pretty tough anyway. Regardless, stay home please.
