All of the counties with real jobs in florida vote blue. Y’all commute from far ass out exburbs that vote red… than you look down on the blue counties when you actually can’t afford to live in them. Have a happy commute.

Default Flap flap locust coming to town

See ya on the 15th! I may post a photologue of my liberal adventures traipsing through “your” magical kingdom!

You erroneously conclude (dangerous) that there is no "push-back" or downright "opposition". Whether you like it or not, there is substantial opposition, even disgust with any thought of a Blue Wave dominance. You have to be blind, or in convenient denial not to hear, see and smell that at the present time. That's even evidenced here, in this thread.

Most voters, i.e. legal voters don't seem to be leftists and socialists....but they seem to believe their agenda of socialism is their holy crusade.....conservatives not so "visceral".

Clearly we are in a civil war, without armies and bloodshed. We are in a battle of policies, faith, foundational values, personal freedom, safety, education, personal responsibility, morality, and the nuclear family.

Whatever the case, most any sober observer and participant can see for themselves that what's happening now in this great nation, is NOT working.

We don't need more of "what''s not working" - the course must be amended or totally altered.

For me as a native, local and Floridian, I certainly don't want my southern state of Florida to become southern CA, NYC, NJ, CT, MA RI, and certainly not become anything close to Chicago, SPM, Austin, Seattle, Portland, or Detroit. I will do my part to resist that obvious effort by some.

The locusts need to improve their own states. They need your alleged intelligence and leadership. Don't attempt to "transform" anything other than your own home city and state. Go do that first.

All I know is time will tell....it's unfortunate that my State Of Florida is now attracting exactly the people we don't really need or want. It's sickening but it's a free nation, thank god. I know of few Floridians barking like a dog to move to places like the vociferous loudmouths transplants or wannabes attempting to infect the cultural milieu here, locally in Florida. the idiots are moving here it seems. Lord knows Florida has its share of native and local idiots as well, but they aren't moving to other states to "infect" them with their idiocy....Get it?

Why are you moving here? what's wrong with your own home? Don't like your town? or State? then work to improve it !! that's EXACTLY what we do here in FLORIDA, WITHOUT YOUR DAMN HELP INFLUENCE OR INPUT......you didn't lay the groundwork for your thinking it's a great place ....duh.....WE did it..not you! you people enjoy the fruits of our labour, and if YOU didn't like the deal here, your wouldn't MOVE here in the first place....if your home town were so damn great, you'd STAY there, RIGHT?

On a diff note, what types of business is the area in need of? Maybe a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream shop? Hot naked yoga? Feminist bookstore? Any ideas…. ?

City-data’s stupid algorithm won’t let me rep you again until I spread some reputation around so I will just quote your post and waste city-data disk space.

There's a ben and Jerry's in Nocatee. It's like the 4th best ice cream shop within a 10 minute car ride. And it's cost twice as much as the other better places. Not sure it'll survive.

When Catullo's restaurant gets going in Nocatee next year, they'll be the best Italian joint in St Johns County (IMHO) as long as they maintain the same level of food and service at their other location in Jax. Poppy's is ok in PVB but Catullo's is far more refined. Hoping they'll take reservations but doubt they'll do it.

Anejo's (good affordable Mexican restaurant - other location is in PVB on A1A) should be a good addition when they open up as long as they can find the staff.

I think if we were to want to start a business (and we do not) in the prepared food industry, I would go gourmet take out. Not Fast Food or Pizza take out, proper good quality food like a lot of traditionally sit in places are now providing. IMHO there are not many good take-out offerings in South St. Johns. More and more folks are going for take-out with Covid than ever before.

Not via delivery apps that take most of the profit from local vendors, but the vendors themselves doing so. we have no problem going to pick up good take out food but our options are limited. We have a great Chinese and an Italian on the beach that provides excellent food for pickup, but that is all that come to mind. Just a thought.

I think folks are also getting fed up with the ever-increasing expected tips, now up to 25% and the intimidating prompting to do so in payment systems, but that is another story.

My goodness, please try to calm down. We northern locusts really don’t want you to collapse in a fit of apoplexy.

Now to answer your question. I am moving here for the weather. Period. Not for your “freedoms”, or any other political agenda. Not because this state is run any better than my own. I’m here for the beach and the sunshine. That’s it. Thankfully it IS a free country and you can complain all you want, but it won’t stop us from coming. I’m in north Florida currently and I’ve found people to be exceedingly friendly and welcoming. OP, enjoy your trip!
