Now a days I find less traffic on old middleburg rd to I-295 in the mornings. Most of the poeple from oak leaf plantation take this road towards I-295, I-10 and downtown. Traffic used to be heavy in the morning from 7.00 am to 8.00 am. It usually takes me 20 to 25 mts to reach I-295 from Oakleaf. Now I can reach in 15 mts

Usually traffic will be less during summer holidays or other school holidays. But why now? Any new roads opened which deviated traffic from this route. just curious.

Default Now the opposite is happening

Starting from this week 2/9 , traffic is heavy at traffic lights on the roads leading to I-295. Especially on Old middleburg, 103 street intersection, 103 rd Shindler dr again on old middleburg rd, wilson road intersections traffic is heavy at the traffic lights.

Now I found the reason for this changed traffic pattern. It may be due to the change in the setting of the traffic light timings. Have to wait at least 2 or 3 times before we get a green at these lights.

Whom do we contact for requesting for increasing the timings ? Any oakleaf residents noticed this change?

They've started the Chaffee rd closure between 103rd and Normandy. Most of the traffic is probably people that usually going straight from Chaffee to I-10, now they have to detour to 103rd to 295.

The OP is saying there is less traffic... it seems most everyone is replying about MORE traffic... which I would agree on since Chaffee is now closed and the 10 minute detour may be slower than just going to I295 to get to I10.

Well, the OP is the one who revived this thread and said "Now the opposite is happening."

LOL I didn't even look at the date.

I actually find going Blanding to I-295 to I-10 from Middleburg FASTER now than the extra 10 minutes of detour on Chaffee.... never thought I would say that.

Default Yes, I reviveed the thread

When I started the thread I noticed a less traffic on - old middleburg rd to I-295. I did not find the reason so far.

Now opposite is happening and the reason may be due to the detour on Chaffeee rd at I-10
