I recently sent an e-mail to a recruiter asking her please don't contact me again because you're incompetent. What do you know, the bottom-feeder just called me and left a message "please call me back so we can work through this".
Sue them? Why would you want to waste time and money. You have no claim to sue anyway. Ignore them or threaten them to go away. I have more respect for rats, roaches and other vermin than recruiters and other "such" third party labor brokers. That whole concept is so medieval. They remind me of slave labor brokers in colonial American history. The recruiting industry is an "upgrade" to indentured servitude of the 21st century.
So, you are looking for work and want to quit contact with someone who wants to find you work? Sounds smart to me.
That's because these people slamming the recruiters are out there fielding multiple offers for 6-figure salaries with no help needed from someone else, so they do not see the value in recruiters.
Let's not insult the roaches by comparing them to recruiters/agencies. Roaches have a purpose in nature.
My aversion to recruiters would be almost equivalent to my sentiment toward those critters. Yeah, too bad you can't get rid of the human ones - with an application of pesticide maybe.
the whole idea of temp/contract work does seem to me to be something very regressive and exploitative.
Just wait until you start working again: you will meet a lot of roaches who will annoy you.
