What region do you live in that you are able to get to college but not a job?

It's still employers fault. If the OP applies to places and gets nothing but the run around/you need experience/drumroll.........YOU'RE OVERQUALIFIED nonsense then the problem is employers, not them. Solution? Not sure myself but finding ways to standout and don't stop speaking out are some.

You posted this thread wanting opinions but tell people not to point fingers when they offer you one. Sounds like you only want to hear the opinions that tell you its not your fault, and feel attacked when told otherwise.

Seriously, if you can get to college you can get to a job. I live in the Orlando area, so don't tell me you can't. LYNX is pretty comprehensive and the unemployment rate here is lower than the national average right now.

What's the next excuse going to be?

PS--If you are asked why you haven't worked, well, perfect explanation, you were concentrating on your studies.

Universal, Sea World, and Disney are all hiring. Wet and Wild is hiring as well.

Don't tell me about Lynx. I'm fully aware of the service in that I've used it in the past. The job market sucks in Orlando. There's a fellow poster in the Orlando sub forum who is having a hard time finding a job. As for theme parks, they are not in close proximity, and are just as selective in their hiring process. Again, put all of that plus my personal circumstances, the barriers are overwhelming.

No he doesn't because you can't find a job if

1. No jobs are being posted

2. Your family and friends don't know the right people

3. If there is tons of competition for every opening

4. If the hiring process for jobs in 2013 is very long

5. Only jobs being offered are part-time jobs

So no he has no point at all.

^^ This. I heard all sorts of rude, nasty crap from family members, "friends of the family," etc. when I was unemployed.

They acted like I was sitting on my ass eating bon bons all day, when really I had sent out hundreds of resumes and had already been on half a dozen interviews.

People who act high and mighty will have their day, and I'll always remember how they treated me. Do you think I'll really give a crap when they lose THEIR job or have something else horrible happen to them?
