Nonsense. Many younger people cannot lift 75 lbs, or have poor vision (which is corrected with glasses). Standing on the feet for 4 hours is no big deal, have you not seen people in their 70s that are ushers at the baseball game? Many people in their early 60s grew up with computers as they developed and have kept up with the technology. Bend, Lift and Reach is also something that a normal healthy person in the early to mid 60s should be able to do. Saying 1-2 years experience means at least, not only. I hired a 54 year old woman for a job that requires lifting 50 lbs and she has done just fine, now 57.

Inventory Helper for National Lease
This is asinine. You pulled one requirement out of many other requirements from each one of these job descriptions to say that, as a whole, it is age discrimination?

For example, the Wegman position is a for a Customer Service-Maintenance person to fix up broken store equipment and their requirements say "standing on your feet up to 4 hours" and "lifting 1-10 lbs usually ... but up to 50lbs very rarely". How is that inappropriate again?

For the Customer Service Agent for AA, the job is to "Provides assistance with passenger check-in and cargo acceptance." so an ability to handle heavy bags is appropriate, don't you think? None of the other requirements you listed, besides lifting up to 70lbs, were part of this job description.

Same goes for Inventory Helper for National Lease -- it's a job in a warehouse pulling truck parts which tends to be heavy.

Same goes for the Passenger Service Supervisor who's responsible "for overseeing a variety of airline passenger service including but not limited to overseeing customer service agents, ensuring a timely departure of the aircraft, responding to passenger concerns, baggage handling, and training of new hire personnel" and , last time I checked, airlines do use computers to track everything.

Here is another

Office Services Representative for Canon Business Representative

Required to learn new features of copying machine

Long periods of standing

It's put there to stop the older folks from applying. Some may still apply but then there are others that will say because of their arthritis, "no way I can stand all day". Then they figure most older people hate change so that new feature required was probably put there to make a older person think twice before applying.

You know, just because your health is crappy in your late 30's doesn't mean everyone's is.

So what you're saying that an Office Service Rep for Canon copiers don't have to know the features of the new machines and they don't have to stand for long stretches of time?

canon office service reps are actually a whole cabal of people in the late teens/early 20s who spend their time lounging on couches eating grapes and laughing at all the old people who were scared away by the posted requirements.
