Very true. She was reported killed by Hamas and then she shows up alive today. I was not aware that any of the hostages that were released today had dual citizenship. The speculation about the Russian citizens is just unverified speculation. The media is speculating that the Iranians would have made a deal with Putin separately during one of the visits to Moscow. That would be similar to the independent Thai government negations with input from Iran with Hamas. Mainstream cable news is misleading. They are portraying the release of the Thai hostages as if it were part of the Israeli deal by stating there were 24 hostages released today. Technically true, but leaving out an important detail. Israeli news reports that the release of the Thai citizens was not included in the hostage package release with Hamas. It was a separate agreement.

Of the 13 Israeli hostages, a few (3-4?) had dual Israeli-German citizenships (as per Israeli media). I believe this was mainly members of one of family that was released together.

Israeli media also said that actually one of the foreign (non-Israeli) hostages released was Filipino and the rest were Thai. But I haven't heard of any negotiations connected to the Filipino government with this particular hostage's release.

On Israeli TV, they were mainly reporting about the 13 Israeli citizens released. The non-Israeli (Thai & Filipino) were mentioned more casually. Also the Thai & Filipino hostages that were released were not named due to privacy issues but they were met by representatives of their consulates in Israel.

Tomorrow another 13 Israeli hostages are supposed to be released. Israeli TV reported that the list includes more children than in today's release. Let's hope that goes as smoothly as today's release.

Remember 39 Palestinian Arab convicts (due to terrorism related charges) that had been in Israeli jails were released today into the West Bank in exchange for today's hostages release.

Today's release of 13 more Israeli hostages (women and children) as well as 7 foreign worker hostages haven't yet happened. Hamas caused the delay by claiming that Israel hadn't fulfilled all of the conditions according to the agreement. The first issue was that the some of humanitarian aid hadn't arrived yet in the Northern Gaza. This was simply due to road conditions as all the aid agreed upon was sent to Gaza. The second excuse was that Israel hadn't released Palestinian Arabs convicts (meaning those charged with acts of terrorism) from Israeli prisons according to their seniority. The Israelis said that was not in the written hostage agreement that had been signed (it was a verbal agreement only meaning not a fixed commitment). It seems that Egypt has been able to sort out the problems together with Qatar representatives. The Red Cross ambulances have been sent to pick up those to be released and hopefully tonight they will back in Israel safe and sound.

Finally 13 Israelis and 4 (not 7) Thai arrived yesterday after more than a 6 hour delay. But now it is Hamas who definitely has broken one of the stipulations of the agreement which was not to separate mothers from their children (as defined those 21 years old and under). A 13 year old girl was returned without her mother and this is a single parent home. Also an injured 21 year old was returned without her 18 year old brother (also a family separation). This is besides the fact that two siblings who were returned are coming back to no parents as Hamas murdered their mother while Hamas is holding their father still captive. (Civilian adult males above the age 21 aren't included in the current hostage deal.)

Today 17 more hostages have been released - 13 Israelis as per the agreement with Hamas, one Russian-Israeli dual male citizen as a courtesy for President Putin's support of the Palestinian cause and 3 Thai foreign workers. One of the released is the orphaned American-Israeli 4 year old girl (whose parents were murdered on Oct 7th by Hamas). The 84 year old Israeli woman who was released today is in serious condition has been rushed to Soroka Hospital. The elderly lady's condition was a contributing factor to that the majority of the released hostages were transferred directly from Gaza to Israel (and not via Egypt like the 2 prior days)

FYI There are still at least one adult male (and I think two?) dual American-Israeli citizens in Gaza. Also there are still 18 Israeli children being held hostage in Gaza.

While still waiting for today's 11 hostages (2 mothers and 9 children) to be released, it looks like there might be a deal to lengthen the ceasefire for one or two more days in which Hamas will release 10 more hostages per day.

One of those dual citizens is Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a 23 year old kidnapped after his arm was blown off by a grenade while hiding in a shelter in the desert following the rave. One of the most disturbing pieces of footage that I have accidentally seen is him stoically being put in the back of a pickup truck with his arm missing from the elbow down. His mother, Rachel Goldberg, has been an incredible voice.

Thank G-d Emily Hand is back. Her family had a funeral for her, having initially believed her to be dead. She was abducted from a sleeover party in one of the kibbutzes. Her biological mother died when she was young, but her father's first ex-wife appears to have been a mother figure to her, also living in the kibbutz. She was killed in the attack.

No word still on Noa Argamani or Aisha Alziadna and her brothers. Noa is the woman who was depicted screaming in terror on the back of a motorcycle being taken away from the festival. She was kidnapped with her boyfriend, and her father has been another incredible voice for the hostages. The Alzianda family are devout Muslim Bedoins who were captured from a kibbutz where they were working.

Today 11 Israeli hostages consisting 2 mothers and 9 children were released. Some of these children have fathers that are still being held captive in Gaza. Notably still captive in Gaza is the mother of a child that was released yesterday as well as the younger brother of an injured young woman (also released yesterday) who was shot in the leg on October 7th and has been operated on today. No dual American-Israeli citizens were released today.

A 9 year old girl that released from captivity thought she was there for a year, and won’t stop whispering (as she was conditioned during captivity to do so):

I've been reading reports about the mistreatment of the hostages, including lack of food, place to sleep, no showers. The 12 year old boy was beaten by "civilians" as he was led through the streets of Gaza. The children would have a gun pointed at their face if they started to cry.
