The former Israeli Olympian Esther Roth-Shahamorov is in desperate need of a kidney transplant. (It seems in her family there is some kind of genetic kidney defect). I haven't found an article about this in English but here is some information about her career: Esther Roth-Sachamarov

She was discharged from the hospital later in May. Interestingly, the article says "Her condition has been described as serious but not life-threatening."
