I lived in Prairie Village in the early 70's and remember my dad taking me to a BBQ restaurant in Metcalf Square on Saturdays if my mom had to work. Does anyone remember the name? or was it Metcalf South Shopping Center - Sears used to be an anchor store.

Pretty sure the origininal Hayward's location was in Metcalf Square. By the time I moved to KC, Boardroom BBQ was in the space.

No it wasn't. Original location was College and Antioch.

1972 + 45 years = 2017...
But they were never at Metcalf Square like you stated they were.

Your memory is correct. I have no idea what the difference is between Metcalf Square and Cherokee South. Perhaps you can clarify for the OP to see if that's the BBQ restaurant they were thinking of, but I suspect it is. Can't have been too many BBQ restaurants at 95th and Antioch in the 70s.
