I have lived in overland park for almost 20 years. We raised our kids here and I love it. I don't separate it from Kansas City though. I have worked in the city for at least 10 years. I work off Independenc Ave (definatley the 'hood') and love coming home to a gorgeous (and I'm NOT rich) home where I don't lock my doors. I love the Power and Light district...Westport was good but not so much now. The plaza is amazingly beautiful! There are great vintage clothing shops and thrift shops. It's a great place to live. We'll be moving out west soon as there is now no family left here. (L.A. and Phoenix)...It'll be sad to leave...beautiful area considering there are no oceans or mountains.
