I think Katie Horner is the best meteorologist in Kansas City. I think all the male meterologists are jealous of her. Seems like they follow her lead/copy what she is doing. It's almost comical.

Katie Horner has been the worst TV meteorologist, IMO, in the Kansas City media market for years.

I disagree. And I thought you hadn't even lived here for years and years, so how would you know? I think she is a threat to the male meterologists. She's obviously smart, knows what she is talking about, explains what is going on, and really gets into it - which apparently bothers some people. Now it's like that other meterologists watch what she does and they follow suit.

No, they don't. None of them follow the others' leads, and no one is jealous of Katie Horner. She's way too hyperbolic for many people, including me.

Exactly. Way too much drama just like Lezak. It's all about the ratings...

I honestly believe they do watch her and do what she is doing. It's kind of funny to watch. I think Mike Thompson especially feels threatened by her.

Anyway, back to the weather…

I'm moving out a little earlier than the OP, and had the same questions. Is the June-August period reliably hot and humid, or should i come ready for anything?

June is stormier than July or August, which can be very hot and very humid. Sept-November are my favorite months. Fall tends to be nice and pleasant.
