We will be moving to Kauai soon and plan on moving around the island frequently (every few months?). Anyone have any suggestions about what to do regarding internet access? It does not seem practical to pay the Time Warner hookup fee each time we move. Does anyone use Verizon?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We use Verizon mobile broadband here on Molokai, but it's because we get a good signal where we live. Elsewhere on the island, not so much. Verizon has been workable for us, but it's a little slow, and the connection can be touchy, so we'll be switching to cable at first opportunity.

Check with Verizon about coverage on Kauai. It is quite variable here, depending on the terrain.

Verizon broadband coverage is good, there are also a few other national/local vendors.

For free there is unsecured access (hotspot) at the Kukui Grove shopping center food court. There might be others, I've just seen the signs and people with laptops there.

rememeber that wireless coverage for cell phones and mobile internet changes all the time as new antennas and more users changes things. Places with bad coverage a month or two ago may have outstanding coverge next month when a new cell tower goes up. When people say something does not work, you need to undertsna that things will change. I use AT&T wirleess access on hawaii and some places the covergae is really bad, but in the places I use it the most, it beats all others. best to find someone who has coverage and check out service using their system.
