1. Nurse anesthetist student living in Nashville, TN and from Jackson, MS. My wife is an Occupational Therapist.
2.My wife and I are starting out after graduation so we will need to save for a down payment first. We will probably live in an apartment or a cheaper house in a safe area instead of going in debt over our heads.
3. We are up for a 30-45 minute commute.
4. We are 24 and 26 and have no curtain climbers
5. We would like a small town but we are up for anything.
6. As far as amenities, just the necessities.
The salary and the crime rate are the two biggest factors. If you have any suggestions on towns, hospitals, contacts or anything, we would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks for your time!

Simply one of the best places to meet your career and lifestyle goals would require that you take a hard look at Oldham County. There are several communities, a great regional hospital, and still close to Louisville.

Nursing/medical jobs seem to be in large supply in Louisville and Elizabethtown.

Saint Joseph is opening a new hospital in London (Building a new facility) and you might take a look there.

If you like small towns, I have to agree with Tomocox. Look hard at La Grange and Baptist Northeast. Feels like you are in the country but you are really in a bedroom community of a major metro area. Very nice stuff and probably the best hospital system in the state.

You could check out Jackson Purchase Medical Center (Jackson Purchase Medical Center - Home Page) in Mayfield. Named in the country's top 100 hospitals in 2009. Just a few miles from the Tennessee line is the Murray Calloway County Hospital (https://www.murrayhospital.org/).
You say you're open for commuting, you could live in Mayfield or Benton and drive to Paducah. They have 2 choices there. Western Baptist (Welcome to Western Baptist Hospital) and Lourdes (Lourdes Hospital). If you move to any of the 3 towns I mentioned and want to work in Paducah you'll have a 4 lane drive from all 3.
I just mentioned this area because I'm from this area and, as anybody who reads my posts on here knows, I'm always putting a plug in for western Kentucky. Good luck with your job search.
