why are gas prices SO MUCH HIGHER in louisville, and kentucky for that matter, then other parts of the country even with gas now just above $100 a barrel? Its ridiculous. I found this website interesting, it has a gas "temperature" map, USA National Gas Temperature Map

Because it's a corrupt business and they do whatever the hell they wanna do. There is a special place in hell for anyone involved in the oil industry. For the people that fill-up occasionally, waaahhh!!!

I go through $800 monthly (used to be $300 not long ago) just on good ol' gasoline. I have adjusted and so can you.

You apparently don't have a clue how gas is priced or why it costs as much as it does. The oil companies make less on a gallon of gas than the Federal Government does.

The oil companies you hate so very much are likely supporting a great deal of your 401k, so if you want to see them fail, you can enjoy retiring with a lot less than you planned. Not to mention the thousands of innocent people, like you, trying to make a living, who would be out on the street, collecting Unemployment, or suffering through bankruptcy when their mom and pop gas station fails. All of which will drive up our taxes so we can all support them.

And no....I don't work in the industry, nor do I know anyone who does. I just don't depend on the MSM, which wants me to hate everything they do, for my news.

I suggest you support your local/state economy and buy a Toyota Hybrid Camary (assuming you really don't need to drive an SUV or heavy duty truck everywhere you go) and stop complaining.

In today's Business Section of your local paper (probably buried, as corporate media exists to protect the corporations) was a study by a major capital management firm (for the Congress) which shows the reason for the abrupt rise in gasoline prices was due to market speculation by major institutional investors (read "banks") and that the recent declines have been a result of those same investors liquidating their positions (in other words, "selling").

If we re-regulate the energy market, the price for gasoline will fall to around $2.00- 2.50 per gallon.

Take another $30 off a bbl of oil and then it may actually be at a resonable price. I paid $1.75/gallon just three years ago and I thought it was high then. I would love to see $1.75 again. I have a mom and pop gas station that I go to quite often. They do not raise prices on their pumps until the underground tank gets refilled and then they price it accordingly. That is honesty. 99% of stations DO NOT do that. They change the price, sometimes every hour. All the station owners get on tv and whine and cry that they only make a few cents on the gallon on their gasoline sales. This may be true, but if it didn't make money, you wouldn't see a gas station every block (it seems). It's a bunch of hogs--t. More wool being pulled over our eyes.

And you are right about people needing more gas-friendly vehicles. There was one woman being interviewed on WPSD about the rising gas prices and she was whining that she can't afford to fill the tank like she used to for her and her ONE child. They were driving a full-size Suburban. I don't feel sorry for those IDIOTS. We have one child and drive a crossover Jeep that gets around 30 mpg on the highway. People are afraid of giving up their monsters.
