Can anyone recommend a good auto mechanic that I can take our car to for routine stuff (oil changes, belts, etc.) as well as any major problems that might (knock on wood) ever happen?

Living in Glendale, but assume I'll have to go to E-town for a good one.

Do *not* go to Meineke. They seem really friendly but we found out they weren't fixing things on our car correctly and we ended up having to get it all redone. Now I always take my car to friends of the family over in Nelson County to get stuff fixed on the cars.

But for routine oil changes, I usually go to Valvoline in Etown, in front of Lowe's and Wal-Mart. Never had any problems and they're fast.

Go see Rick Thomas at All Around Auto Care, 4740 Bardstown Rd, Elizabethtown, Ky. 270-737-9954

Excellent shop, and, even better, honest.

Total Auto Care aka TAC on Mulberry is the most reputable auto business you will ever deal with. I have been in the auto biz for years and can tell you with absolute certainty that they are straight-shooters. James is the counter guy and has been there for years and will remember, and call you by your first name even if you haven't been there for a while. I am always pleasantly surprised when I get the bill from them, too. Though it may seem that way I honestly have no ties to them at all, I am just that impressed with their service. When someone treats me right, I like to spread the word.
