I'm hoping to move to Knoxville next month to go to college. I'm visiting next week to try to find an apartment and a job. What are some affordable,decent apartments that are near Pellissippi? I've checked out various websites but part of the problem is lack of reviews to know how these places really are. Plus since I'm not sure if I'm going to have a car, I need something near a bus route if possible. Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge there is no bus route around Pellissippi, only in downtown Knox. You really need a car unless you are prepared to live real close to UT and maybe you could get by with bus or bike transportation, but even then I think your life will be limited greatly here by not having a car. Rent costs near UT are almost twice what I pay in outlying area. Apartments around UT are known for being noisy and high crime. It sounds like you might be planning on going to Pellissippi State though and not UT. Its just there is no public transportation other than cabs out that way.

Alright. Well, guess what i need to say is, it doesnt have to be right near pellissipi since I wont be going there for about 6 months. But I need someplace at least on that side of townand that is cheap.

There are a lot of apartments off Papermill drive & Lonas. That will be in between PSTCC and downtown. Very close to the Liberty st campus if you can take some of your classes there. No direct bus service but you can bike to Sutherland via Hollywood or Liberty and put your bike on the bus.
