Hi everyone,
I will be relocating to Knoxville this summer and have been looking at real estate on-line quite a bit. I was wondering if anyone has any input/opinions to offer on either Northshore Town Center or Weatherstone... I would certainly appreciate it! Thanks.

great area, 1 minute from 1-640, with great access to all of west knoxville.

Northshore Town Center is going for an urban vibe, which is cool. It's walkable, conveniently located and the plan is to make it more mixed use, but personally, I think it's overpriced. Lots are small and houses are on the small side, too, which I consider a good thing, but it puts the CPF up there. If you're looking for an urban feel deep in suburbia and price is secondary, it's worth a look.

To me, Weatherstone has a lot of uninspired, cookie-cutter house plans and an abundance of undesirable lots. I think you can do better for the price. Just my opinion-- apologies to any posters who live there and love it!

oldmanbob - Northshore Town Center is off I-140/Pellissippi Parkway. I like the concept but agree it is pricey. Would do some negotiating. I love the location and would like to retire there because of the walking concept and convenience to so much in area. Price would be an issue for me.

I urge you to get information of previous land-use before moving to a home in a new area. Underground fires that erupted in a West Knox County closed dump near Northshore Drive & Pellissippi Parkway in December 2007 were still burning in March 2008. There may be other closed dumps nearby.

Huh? I haven't heard anything about this.

I don't think it would affect Northshore Town Center.

Seriously, I like to think I keep up with Knoxville news, but I have never ever heard anything about underground fires at closed garbage dumps. I'd like to see some credible sources for these alleged fires.

Besides, I find it hard to believe that there was ever a garbage dump adjacent or close to a lake, which is where Northshore/Pellissippi is located.

I've never heard of it, too, and I follow the local news.

A quick search of the local paper dug up this:

Work on landfill fire again delayed : Local News : Knoxville News Sentinel

Fire continues to burn at illegal landfill's 'very bottom' : Local News : Knoxville News Sentinel

The undergroud fires took place in a sink hole connected to a series of caves located approximately two mile south of Northshore Town Center on Pellissippi Pkwy (I-140). The property where Northshore Town Center is located was a farm, and have not heard of any sink holes fires at that location.

Default Has anyone heard anything about Northshore Town Center?

I drive by it everyday and I was wondering if anything is going to be done with the center? I heard a school is supposed to be built and a liquor store is supposed to be there, but nothing else.
