Is the smoking situation still about the same in Las Vegas? Casino's still allow smoking. Maybe some non smoking sections in the casinos. Restaurants around town all non smoking? Or do some of the restaurants have enclosed smoking sections? Just wondering not interested in politics on the subject. Thanks.

Nothing is going to change on this anytime soon. If you can gamble in a particular spot, you can smoke there. So casinos and bars will have smoke around. Restaurants will not. Hotels will not but good luck getting through a hotel without walking at least a little through the casino unless you stay at those without them. So basically if you are in town just to see family or for business you probably could avoid it, but if you are like almost all tourists be prepared to deal with it somewhat. The air in newer casinos is much better, the ventilation is far improved but its not taking the problem away.

To the OP, There's a lot of good advise mixed into the thread, but the general point is that you'll want to avoid the casinos and any venue connected to them as you'll likely have to walk through/by/past to get there. Las Vegas in general is still not particularly suited to your desires, however there are plenty of non-smoking places to stay and eat. There is LOTS to see and do but much of it will be away from the typical tourist and gambling areas. My family and friends avoid smoking areas by choice, and never have a shortage of things to do, places to go, restaurants to eat at etc.

I'm just so glad the poker rooms in LV are all non-smoking now!! If I'm at a slot machine and a smoker sits down and I'm getting it in the face I move. When I'm playing in a poker tournie where I can't switch seats as all seats are assigned I am just elated those rules have been changed. I remember the 70's and 80's where smoke just billowed up from the poker tables...and yes, I was one of those smokers and I'm happy that I finally quit after 32 years of it. :-)

Red Rock Casino also has a great bingo room where the smokers are trapped in an enclosed chamber and the main room is non-smoking.

Progress!

Yes, and the entrance to it is not far from one of the entrances to the building (no going through smokey areas).

I was somewhat surprised and pleased at this, my wife and I enjoyed chatting over a round of bingo there a couple of years back, something we generally wouldn't do but found to be a lot of fun (maybe I was just amused with the electronic bingo laptop tablet thingies). Progress indeed.
