Booming is like tanning....when you're young, it's cool. There will be many wrinkled and deaf seniors starting in the year 2035.

I am in my 30's and I enjoy peace and quiet, but I also enjoy freedom. As much as it annoys me, I prefer that we not turn into some sort of scary over regulated police state where things like music volume are governed by laws. That's far more scary to me than any potential (exaggerated - if you ask me) damage to my eardrums because of a car driving by my home.

you can get ticketed in NYS, also...it falls under 'Disturbing The Peace' category.

That really doesn't mean it's a good idea though!

There are a LOT of things that are governed in a lot of places that I completely disagree with. I like living in a free country! (And apparently a more free city than others)

You say you live in a free country, which country is that? Tell me about it, and I may consider moving there.

The country I live in exercises its freedom by allowing the media to freely influence our elections, powerful lobbyists to freely set the agenda in Washington DC (counter to our interests), employers to freely fire you for whatever reason they choose, Presidents to freely start unnecessary wars, local and state governments to freely raise your taxes when pressured by powerful interest groups, like teacher's and prison guard's unions.

In Oregon, there's a $1500 fine for boom cars, no second chance. So if you have a boom car and headed up that way for a vacation, take along lots of extra $$$.

I wouldn't mind people playing their music at all if they didn't turn them into boom cars. It used to be that way years ago. If someone wants to listen to their music, fine. But don't make us ALL listen to it.
I like the idea of cities and states fining people for their loud obnoxious noise from their cars. More states need to adopt that.

Yes and you are free to hate all of the above things and talk about it as much as you like with whomever you like. You are even free to rally other people together who hate these things and attempt to do something to counter them or perhaps call for a change of these and other things that concern you. And people that disagree with you are free to do the same. I think that's pretty cool.

Vegas is a hell hole of boom car noise. NE is the worst. Every few minutes you will get blasted on Nellis.
Henderson is not as bad. The cops there will write tickets. Its only really bad there when there is music
at the event center, and all the idiots from Vegas come in and out blasting, blissfully unaware that
Henderson PD will write tickets. What Vegas really needs in as impound law. Those work. Nothing these
big bully babies fear more than having their toys taken away.
