Ok, I'm about to embark on my 15th trip to Vegas.

I usually live in the spa while hubs gambles, and we've seen everything on the strip a million times and we're looking for something new and relaxing to do. We have explored some of the places off strip, but we don't want to visit places we've already seen.

Here's what we've already done off strip:

Atomic Testing Museum (awesome)
Red Rock
Valley of Fire
Hoover Dam
Springs Preserve
Lake Mead

Is there anything that we've missed that we should go see? Just wanted to mention, Death Valley is too far a drive for what we have in mind. We've already done or seen everything the strip has to offer. Even though we love staying in Vegas, one needs a break from gambling from time to time!

When was the last time you visited Vegas?

Is the atomic testing museum in Area 51?

Bravo to you for enjoying our city so much! Enjoy!

Here's some places you both might like (no gaming) and off the strip completely...

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Garden (decorated for Christmas)
Spring Mountain Ranch
Clark County Heritage Museum
Lunch at the Lodge and short walking trail afterwards up on Mt. Charleston (weather-snow permitting)
Neon Boneyard Museum (by appointment only though)
Lost City Museum and lunch at Sugars Home Plate (an all american diner, drive-in and dive) delicious food-both of these located in Overton, near Valley of Fire
A relaxing drive out to Lake Las Vegas, shop, have lunch or dinner enjoy the beautiful country-like scenery out there, and there IS a casino there in case hubs needs a fix, lol
Opportunity Village, "The Magical Forest" all decked out this time of year, especially in the evening
Take an hour drive over the hump to Pahrump and have lunch and visit the Pahrump Valley Winery

My last visit was in May 2011. No the testing museum isn't in area 51, but they offer tours of one of the bomb testing sites off the museum's property if you want-- however, they do a background check on you before letting you on that tour (this takes time), so it makes spur of the moment visits to that area impossible.

Thanks! We really like Vegas, we always have a good time and there's countless good places to eat. Not to mention each casino has their own amazing spa for me to vegetate in.

Spring mountain ranch /Clark County Museum and the boneyard sound great! We were thinking of visiting the Clark County Museum during our last visit, but I completely forgot about it.

The neon boneyard looks really cool, I will converse with the hubs and see if the idea tickles him too since we'd need to book the tour in advance

Fossil hunting behind Frenchman's Mountain, Pinball Museum, Thrift-shop scrounging, Brewpub crawl, Cigar-bar crawl, go to a strip club, ride horses in Red Rock, watch a roller derby, Pahrump winery tour, Ethel M's, have a Fatburger or a Tommy's, eat at a Roberto's, take in some concerts at the local's casinos -- Las Vegas Area Concerts , Zion/Bryce/St. George/Brian Head, go to the zoo in Moapa, eat dim sum in Chinatown

That will take care of you for awhile...

I agree with you Alkonost, the Atomic Testing Museum is awesome.

Von949, I don't know if you're kidding, but the museum is on Flamingo just east of the Terrible Herbst Casino.

The Nevada State Museum is now open ay Springs Preserve too.
