Also, in NYC, a cap and gown is not paid for and each kid gets a professional pic taken. Just thought I'd enlighten some folks that think it is a way to get the families to pay money. I personally find that watching the paint dry is more exciting than ANY graduation I have ever attended.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I enjoy learning about what goes on in other cities and states. Initially, we thought that it was this way due to it not being a Catholic school which is what we were familiar with in NYC.....but now we know better.

Bishop Gorman graduates on a Sunday.... in a casino....and not even a luxury one. SmH I cannot wait to see that.

It's very normal to have high school graduations in the ballrooms in the hotels. With so many kids graduating, and their guests, usually the high school auditoriums or outdoor bleachers can't seat that many people. It's just simply the way we do things here in town.

I've been to several HS graduations in various hotels over the years, absolutely lovely and the kids do such a good job with the decorating of the school colors and all.

Makes sense on the logisitics to have it there...but is there just a slight juxtaposition?

In other words, when Steve Wynn wraps up the graduation speech, does he say..."and if all else fails out there in the world for you...or you just don't want to be part of the grind...then try your luck on a progressive slot...right outside those back doors!"
[caps go flying]

Uh, don't understand your humor, but why would the owner of a casino be making a high school graduation speech in one of the ballrooms?

JFK, stop OCD'ing about LV here on the forum.. you haven't been here in such a long time, so I think you need to come visit

We just had a big school pizza party on the last day of school. Rather have that than a graduation.
