It is the custom in this town for new residents to invite all of their forum friends over for steaks on the barbie, and a keg of Stella Artois, ASAP. Is next Saturday good for you?

Come on over. We need to make some new friends.

I looked for some "local" deals and we were able to see the Gordie Brown show tonight. It was very good. This was our first local perk so I have to research more about what kind of offers the locals get. We even got to meet Rupert from Survivor at the Golden Nugget tonight. He was very nice to talk to.

Welcome to scorching hot Vegas. Don't stand too long in one place or your sandals will melt into the pavement.

Like dieting, making it there is actually the easy part. The hard part is staying there.

Default I basically took the same route...

I just moved here less than two weeks ago and took basically the same route you did but started in Arkansas. I was pretty nervous when I started out driving a 16' Budget rental truck and towing my car on a trailer, but quickly became comfortable driving. I agree with you on the hills between Flagstaff and Kingman! A few times it felt like the truck was gonna tip over on it's driver side even though I was not driving too fast. It kind of "freaked me out" a few times.

Life is much better now that I am unpacked. Have fun you two.

MarkimO, if you're from Pittski, ain't you used to the rugged Alleghenies? They aren't high, but the only two directions there are either up or down. Hope you didn't live in The Hill District of Pittsburgh.
